Is the OpenQR generator really free?

Yes, and it always will be. A QR code costs essentially nothing to generate, so the core OpenQR tool stays free with no watermark and no sign-up. See why it's free.

Is the API free too?

Yes. The OpenQR REST API and MCP server are free for everyone, including dynamic-code creation up to the free plan's 1-code limit. We'd rather you build on OpenQR than paywall the integration.

What do I actually pay for with Pro?

The answers you need once your codes are printed and in the wild. 25 editable dynamic QR codes live at once: one printed code whose destination you can edit later, where the free plan covers 1 dynamic code. Full scan analytics: the free plan shows the last 7 days by country; Pro widens the window to 90 days and adds the towns and regions scans come from, the hours and days they peak in your scanners' own timezone, what people scanned on, whether a scan came from a phone network or a datacentre, and CSV export. A branded subdomain (yourname.oqr.to, an address on our domain rather than your own, with every code still answering on the shared domain too). PIN or password-protected codes: scanners get a branded unlock page before the redirect, and you still see every scan. The free Weekly Insights email reads the same data once a week and reports what changed across your codes; on Pro it gains the same depth, so it covers towns, peak times and the full analytics window instead of one week.

Business (£19/mo or £190/yr) raises the cap to 100 active dynamic codes and widens the analytics window to a full year of scan history. Enterprise is enquire-only: custom code allowances, invoicing and custom terms, scoped per organisation (team seats and shared workspaces are on the roadmap — an enquiry that needs them helps us build them). What happens if I cancel Pro?

Nothing is deleted. Your codes, designs and scan history all stay in place: cancelling narrows what you can see (analytics drop back to the last 7 days by country) rather than what we keep, so resuming brings your plan's window straight back. The free plan covers 1 dynamic code, so on a downgrade your most-scanned codes stay live and the rest are paused rather than killed: reactivate one yourself in the dashboard, or re-subscribe and every paused code comes back at once.
