Can I pre-fill the subject and message?

Yes — add them and they’re encoded into the code so the email opens ready to send. The person can edit anything before sending.

Which email app does it open?

Whatever the person uses by default — Gmail, Apple Mail, Outlook and so on. You don’t choose it; their device does.

Does it send the email automatically?

No. It opens a draft addressed to you with your subject and message pre-filled; the person taps send themselves. That’s by design — nobody likes an app sending mail without their say-so.

Does it work on all phones?

Yes — any modern phone camera reads it, no app required, as long as the phone has an email app set up.

Is my email address private?

Yes — the code is built entirely in your browser; your address is never uploaded to or stored on a server. Note that once the code is printed in public, the address inside it is readable by anyone who scans it.

Will an email QR code expire?

No. The mailto link is encoded directly into the code, so it works forever and offline.

Can I change the email address later?

No: the address is written into the pattern when you generate the code, so a new address means generating and printing a new one. If your contact details change often, point a dynamic URL code at a contact page instead.
